"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."
-Sally Clarkson from the Mission of Motherhood

Soccer Season Begins

It is hard to believe Henry is beginning his third season of soccer. He loves it so much, and he really is getting pretty good for a tyke team! This year they are the green alligators, and they were fired up tonight! Henry scored several goals, although I did not get many pictures do to chasing to two year olds and making two trips to the bathrooms! Nonetheless, it was a fun night, seems like a fun team, and we are off to a great start this spring!

First Trip to the Dentist!

Grant and Grace had their first trip to the dentist last Thursday. Henry opted to stay with Grandmother, which was a wise choice. Let's just say neither of them were fans of Dr. Johnson despite his many forms of bribery via toys & stickers! haha :) The only picture I managed was this one of Grant prior to the drama that unfolded once our name was called!! I'm so glad David took off to go with me. That was one task I was not prepared to handle alone!

The second picture is Grant eating breakfast yesterday....with his fork on his head. He balanced it there for several minutes. I have no idea what that was about, but found it quite funny (& impressive) and took a picture!

I appologize for not posting in a week--I have been working like crazy on our annual blog book. It takes me an insane amount of time to go back through and get it all converted to a book, but I know it is worth it :) Henry's soccer season starts tomorrow, and we have a busy weekend ahead....I'm sure there will be lots to blog about!

Batman!!

Henry got to attend the CUTEST Batman B'day Party for Austin on Tuesday morning at the park. Austin's mom made capes for all the boys, and they had a blast!

Henry with some of his best buds. These boys have been in the same class at school for several years now!
It is important to look cool, even while eating breakfast.
I'm not sure what this pose is, but he has been doing it all day!
Grace sporting her pigtails. This is the first day she's worn them all day! (She's even napping with them in right now!)

St Patty's Playdate

With so many friends out of school for Spring Break, we decided to have a playdate on Thursday. There was lots of green due to it being St. Patrick's Day. Our friend, Katy, and her little girl, Norah, were visiting from Auburn. Lauren and her little boy, Brooks, got to come since she does not have to teach during Spring Break! It was a fun get together for the kids and the mommies too! :)

Perfect Weather!

After a long rainy week, we were so happy to see the pretty sunshine and enjoy the pretty weather this weekend. We've been outside as much as possible--going to the zoo, on a walk in the jogging stroller, playing on our bouncy, and jumping on the neighbor's trampoline.

Jake's even enjoying the weather! :)
Grant's favorite animal at the zoo is the giraffes, so David got him out of the stroller so he could get a better look. He loved it!
Henry and Taylor loved exploring the new Africa exhibit at the zoo. The grand opening was yesterday.

Bath Time, Birthdays & Best Buddies

The kids decided to cuddle up in the floor a few minutes ago after lunch. They are so precious and are already so close. Having kids so close together is challenging for the parents in some ways, but it sure is fun for the kids. They have the best time (most of the time!!)
Henry had a bubble bath with the jets on in our master tub the other night. He got a kick out of all the bubbles. They were everywhere!
Grace trying to drink the water in the bath tub on Sunday night.
On Saturday night we had a cookout celebrating family birthdays. Grace was thrilled to see Uncle Wes!
Saturday afternoon we helped this cute pie, Norah, celebrate her first birthday! I grew up with her parents, Katy & Joe, so it is really special to know their kids now!

Tuckered Out

Henry spent the last 24 hours in Cullman with his cousins and had to be bribed to come home this afternoon! He had the best time. According to David, he slept the entire way home. When he got home he briefly said hello before going back to sleep on the couch! A sure sign of a good time....
