"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."
-Sally Clarkson from the Mission of Motherhood

Old Baker Farm!

Henry and I got to spend a fun day together at Old Baker Farm (aka the pumpkin patch) for his third kindergarten field trip.  The kids had so much fun !

Mrs. Anglin even got to feet a calf!

 Christian, Stratton & Henry
 He found the perfect one!
Hot Chocolate break before lunch on this cold and windy day
Henry's sweet little class.  Over half of the parents were there.  We had a great day!
Henry's a pro at picking cotton!

Church Fall Festival

Our silly kiddos were so very excited about their first Halloween outing in their costumes on Sunday afternoon at our church.  Above, you can see our silly Cinderella, and below is our pirate, Captain Kid!

It's Jayden, the Red Ranger!  Henry loves the Power Rangers :)

I love this pic of Grace with her head literally buried in her candy bag!

Everyone had a great time.  We went home after being the cold and warmed up by playing a board game by the fire!  It was the perfect ending to a long, fun weekend!

Last Week in Review!

This picture turned out a little dark (and I'm just too lazy to edit anything whatsoever....I really should use some sort of editing software. Perhaps in 2013 I will get around to this....)  Nonetheless, the kids had SO much fun putting together their boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  If you have never participated in this, check it out at www.samaritanspurse.org/occ.
Last week was Drug Free Week at school.  Henry got to wear his clothes inside out, wear pajamas to school, etc., all week long.  He had fun with his crazy outfits!
And last weekend we enjoyed an adult weekend on the plains with friends!  We had so much fun, and I slept in a camper for the first time in my life...two nights in a row!! While our team did not win (shocking, I know), we did have a great time and it always brings back so many wonderful memories just to be in Auburn!  College is hands down some of the very best years of your life.  David & I say all the time how glad we are that we got to spend most of our college years together :)

Birthdays, Birthdays!

Grace helped our neighbor, Lydia, celebrate her fourth birthday at a gymnastics party this afternoon.  Grace loved it, especially since she had her party there last year as well!
After Lydia's party, we headed to Mimi & Papa's to help Michael celebrate his 28th birthday!!  We all had a great time and ate way too much good food!  Happy Birthday, Uncle Michael!  We love you! :)

Pumpkin Patch!

Henry had a great soccer game and a big win on Saturday morning.  It was a beautiful day for soccer!

After his game we headed straight to the pumpkin patch with our neighbors.  We had such a fun time!  The kids enjoyed face painting, games, balloons, jumpies, lunch, and a hay ride to a maze!  They were worn out when we got home!

First Football Game!

Grant and Grace have never attended a football game, so they had a ball Friday night tailgating with our church and then going to watch the game.  We sat right beside the band.  Grant danced to the music in the aisle, and Grace & her friend Emme were in awe of the cheerleaders and dancers.  Grace and Emme are two of the girliest girls I have ever seen!!  After we left Emme apparently walked up to a Buccanette and said, "Hi.  I'm Emme!"  Those girls are social butterflies!

When the band first walked on the field, Grace started crying and saying, "Ninjas!!"  The band marched on in all black, and she had never seen a band before.  She had no idea what was going on.  Once they started playing, she believed me.  Clearly her brothers have been watching too much Power Rangers--poor girl is scared of ninjas!
Grant cheered his little heart out!

Parents Day in PE!

The entire school had parents day in PE today.  Parents were invited to leave their briefcases behind and bring their running shoes for a fun day in PE.  It was really fun to play with the kids and also see some of the fun things they get to do in PE.  Apparently, as he gets older, he'll learn things such as walking on stilts and riding a unicycle.  The school even has a unicycle team that performs throughout the year . (I guess if one of our children does not excel academically, they will be well trained for the circus! Ha!)  Nonetheless, we had a fun time playing and also getting to know his fun PE coaches!
Anderson & Henry are buddies! I'm getting to know his mom quite well since we are room moms together.

Art Show!

Tonight we got to go to an art show at Henry's school where we could buy his framed art.  He was so proud, and he already has his art hanging in his room when he went to bed tonight.
After the art show we headed to the library to the school's book fair that is going on all week.  (I had already been since I worked the book fair for a few hours today, but Henry wanted to show David the library.)  Grant and Grace loved playing in "the pit" where the kids have story time.
This is just a random pic of them helping me make chicken salad the other day.  It is amazing how chaos can turn into harmony if I say, "Hey, does anybody want to help me cook?"  They forget why they were fighting and run to the island.  I love to cook, so I suppose it makes everyone happy!

Grace the Flower Girl!

Grace and Rylee are big buddies.  They take gymnastics together, go to church together, and seem to watch most Auburn games together too!  They had fun being flower girls together this weekend for a friend's wedding! They did a great job, and we were so proud of them!
Grace got her hair done.  Despite the expression on her face in this picture, she really did love it!

It is important to "carb load" before any big event.  The princess must have her snacks!

 All three flower girls :)
The beautiful venue!

A Baptism & 3 Birthdays!

This  morning Carter made his public profession of faith and was immediately baptized at church.  We were so glad that all of our family got to be there.
After church Sunday, Grayson & Carter had a joint birthday party.  The kids had so much fun celebrating with them.  I can't believe Grayson is 4, and Carter is 8!  Where does the time go?  They are getting so big!

Henry had his team pics on Saturday morning.  David was kind enough to take the camera and take a picture, but that meant I didn't have the camera while I was at Hudson's birthday party with Grant & Grace.  Hudson had an animal party where the kids could touch/hold an alligator, snake, bug, tortoise, etc.  Grant and Grace opted for just watching from afar!  It was fun, though.  Sorry we don't have any pics!
