"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."
-Sally Clarkson from the Mission of Motherhood

Merry Christmas!

We had so much fun with our family and friends this Christmas!! :)

 Happy Birthday, Jesus!
 Christmas movie time!
Grace got fake princess nails.  These tacky things stayed on for about 90 seconds :) haha

And a Christmas morning video!!

Christmas Eve in Cullman

Grace's favorite gift: the biggest bag of shredded cheddar cheese you have ever seen.  (Ok, this really wasn't her gift, but it could have been.  She LOVES shredded cheddar!!)  She was SO excited when she saw Nana cooking with it!
Grace's entirely too big bowl of cheese :)

Grace and Kate--these two have to stick together with seven boys around!
Present time!  All of the boys except the two biggest got remote control cars that they played with outside for hours since the weather was so nice!  It was a great Christmas Eve!
Sprinkling reindeer food before bed on Christmas Eve :)

An Early Christmas Surprise

The kids before Church on 12/23.  Grace is making her classic pouty face.
Grace is showing us her muscles--hilarious!
Mimi & Papa surprised the kids with a new playset at their house for Christmas, complete with a new picnic table too!  The kids loved it, and I know they'll have fun on it for years to come.
Ok this pic is too funny not to post.  It was freezing, and we all borrowed extra gloves, hats, and scarves to wear outside.  David ended up with one of Liz's ski hats.  Can't you tell he's proud of it?!?Ch

Henry's Christmas Party

I had a great time with Henry at his class party yesterday.  They had pizza and ice cream and then did a fun little craft.  The whole class made shirts to wear for the party.  They looked adorable! :)

Time to Divide & Conquer

 Grant's Elf
 "Jesus Loves You Snow Much"
 Grace's Elf

David and I often have to divide and conquer in order to be there for three kiddos!  Yesterday was no exception.  Grant & Grace's class parties happened simultaneously in different classrooms.  I attended Grant's since I am room mom in his class, and David drove nearly two hours from Guntersville and took a half day of leave to attend Grace's!
Grant's precious class with his precious teacher, Mrs. Molly :)
Grant and Grace's classes raced each other doing the "Reindeer Shuffle" while wearing their special reindeer gear for the 2012 Reindeer Games! They had so much fun! :)
We have also enjoyed a very special visit this week from Mimi's family who drove from Texas and Kansas City to visit.  Everyone had dinner at our house on Tuesday night.  The kids loved playing with Ringo (the dog)!  They spent a week in Rosemary with them about a year and a half ago, and they were happy to be reunited for a fun visit!

Christmas in Leeds

We had the first of many family Christmas celebrations today.  David was getting Grace to make all sorts of crazy faces!!  We had a fun time visiting with family!  Let the Christmas chaos begin!!  We had a party Thursday and Friday night.  This week we have something 6 out of 7 days......I'm getting tired just thinking about it, but looking forward to all of it!!

Arthur's Been Into A Little of This, A Little of That!

He went on a date with Snow white where they shared a bottle of syrup.
He rolled our tree, but he accidentally rolled himself into the tree so that he couldn't get out.
 He pigged out on sugar.
After pigging out on sugar, he got sick!
He made a naughty and nice check sheet to help him give his nightly report to Santa.  What do you think?  Have these three been naughty or nice?

Breakfast with Santa

This past Saturday we participated in an annual tradition at Henry's elementary school.  They have breakfast with Santa, a Santa Shop (various vendors and a shop for the kids to buy small gifts), chickfila, krispy kreme, and the kids perform Christmas music.  It was so much fun.  Well, everyone enjoyed it except Grace.  She did not even want Santa in the lunchroom.  100 feet away was not far enough!

Grace is NOT a fan of Santa!
