"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."
-Sally Clarkson from the Mission of Motherhood

Library Fun

This morning I took the kids to the weekly program at the library. I wasn't sure how they'd do, so we got there early to stake out a back row seat in case we had to leave. (The place was packed by the time the show started.) This week it was one of the singers from the PBS show "Between the Lions." The kids had a blast dancing and singing along, and it was twice as special for them since they recognized the guy on stage! I got a few pics, but it was hard in the dark to get any good ones.

I also took them to redeem some of their tickets at the prize booth for all the reading they've been doing this summer. They were in awe looking at all the potential prizes!

Yet, when they received their prizes, were they excited? Not so much!

Fun Filled Weekend!

Last weekend we went to family movie night at church, Jack's birthday party, a get together with friends, and to see the movie Cars 2 on Sunday afternoon. I was super bad and did not have my camera at all! (I think this packing business is about to do me in!) Thank goodness Ginger took her camera to the movies. At least I have pictures to document that! Pierce and Henry loved it. As we walked in Henry said, "Mom, I've been waiting to see this for a thousand years!"

And David did manage to get this cute pic of Grant cuddling on the couch with me on Saturday morning:

iJump!

Yesterday afternoon before dinner we headed to iJump. When not at the pool or in the sprinkler, I've been searching for ways to let the kids get their wiggles out in air conditioned places! They had a blast. David even came to play with them too!
Grace amazed me by climbing to the top of the biggest slide there and going down multiple times! What a big girl!

Henry knows the ropes at iJump, so when we got there he was gone and out of site most of the time. A lot of the bouncers are like mazes, so I had no idea where he was! I did catch him coming down the big slide though.

And Grant made me laugh as he stood on the skee ball machines and in the bowling alleys. Nothing is off limits in his book, including other children's birthday cakes. I could not let him run free unsupervised, because twice I caught him in party rooms about to destroy two different birthday cakes!

Supper Club!

Grant was in a sugar induced coma in this pic I'm pretty sure! No smile! Emme and Grant got the award for messiest children. They were covered in pink juice after eating popsicles!

Our new neighborhood has lots of fun social activities. One of them is a supper club. Luckily, this time it was with kids and at a friend's house (the Jones') which we already knew, so they were kind enough to include us even though we don't move in for another 11 days! We had a great time, and we got to meet so many of our new neighbors. There are so many kids. I think we are really going to enjoy it there!

A Way Great Play Date!

Henry has been looking forward to seeing some of his buddies from school all week. Today was the big day, and he was fired up! So, in the 95 degree heat, we played in the woods, on the playground, and had a baseball game in the field. We were all hot, but everyone had a great time!

VBS Open House

We have been blessed with another great year at VBS at our church. The focus this week has been the Lord's prayer. The timing is perfect since Henry will begin sitting in church with us this fall where he can recite the Lord's prayer with us.

I took off of work to teach Monday-Friday. Holli and I have a class full of 15 kindergardeners. (And there is another class with just as many kindergardeners!!!) It has been a busy, fun and tiring week.

Last night was parent's night at VBS. The kids got to show their family their classrooms and also show them some of the songs they've been learning this week. I've posted a video below of Henry singing!
This last pic is unrelated to VBS, but look how sweet these two are! They LOVE to cuddle :)

Happy Birthday, Grandmother!

We had a birthday celebration for Grandmother's 81st Birthday last weekend. The kids had as much fun as she did! Grant and Grace even had their juice in a special flute so they could be festive too!

One Hot Summer!

Love :)
Our sweet friend Shay sent us this picture of the kids playing on the slip n slide at their house.
Enjoying shaved ice in the front yard with Mollie :)

Henry dodging the water! (Excuse the blurry quality on these last two pics. I clearly had the camera on the wrong setting!)

It has been one hot summer so far! If we aren't at the pool, it seems the only way to play outside is if water is involved. Needless to say, we have played in sprinklers, slip n slides, had water balloon fights, and there have been lots of popsicles and shaved ice consumed!

Rosemary Beach! (Part 3)

Enjoying an outdoor concert before dinner :)

Grace had to adjust to the sand on the first day. She is not a fan of getting dirty--such a little priss!

What a great trip! We can't wait until next year!

Rosemary Beach! (Part 2)

Vacationing in Rosemary with our family is SO much fun each year. From the biking, the swimming, sand castle building, ice cream eating, etc....it is just a great trip every time!

Mimi & Grace chatting with the neighbors

We had so much fun at the sandcastle class. Who knew you could do so much fancy stuff so easily on a sandcastle? We'll be experts by next summer!

It's hard to beat ice cream from the Sugar Shack on a hot day at the beach!
Horseshoes with the big boys :)

Rosemary Beach! (Part 1)

The kids had a blast at the "Kids Rock the Block" Party

Grace loved modeling Aunt Lea's silpada jewelry, putting on her makeup, and having Lea paint her toes. What a little princess!

Bocce ball on the green
Alex & Abby kept the kids so we could have a nice dinner at Old Florida Fish House. Yum!
