"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."
-Sally Clarkson from the Mission of Motherhood

Seven!!

Henry's birthday celebration began today with me reading and donating a book to his class, followed by lunch. His buddies were already getting excited about the big birthday sleepover!! I can't believe my baby will be 7 tomorrow. That sounds so so big!! 7. Wow.

Henry's Birthday Sleepover

I'm not sure if we had a lapse in judgment, but somehow we agreed to let Henry have a spend the night party this year. The boys were actually really good. We ate pizza, painted pillowcases (a favor to commemorate the occasion), opened gifts, had homemade cookies, birthday cake, big breakfast, and watched a new movie before bed! I think everyone had a great time. We had one get homesick, but the other 5 boys Henry invited stayed all night! We are worn out, but it was worth it to see them have so much fun!!

8th Season of Soccer

Henry finished his 8th season of soccer last night, and he scored more goals than I could count. He was on fire!! I was so glad that Nana, Papa, Uncle Wes, Mimi, and Papa were all there to cheer him on and see him play! We will miss soccer, but basketball starts on Saturday! Never a dull moment at the Pattersons :)

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween celebrating at school and at home! We had about 90 people at our house for Halloween. We are still recovering, but it was so much fun! Can't wait for next year!
